Thanks for your interest in Balfa Toujours.
We are a traditional Cajun band from Southwest Louisiana whose goal is to carry on in the footsteps of our mentors the Balfa Brothers. Led by Christine Balfa, the daughter of the great Cajun fiddler and ambassador Dewey Balfa, we play the traditional music that has been handed down in the family for generations.

Our aim is to keep the music alive and healthy; we do not try to preserve it as if it were a museum piece, but neither do we change it purely for the sake of modernization. In short you could say that our desire is to maintain the music's original role as a source of individual expression and a focal point for the community. Now, with the internet reaching all corners of the globe, that "community" has grown exponentially to include all those who are curious about the culture of Cajun Louisiana. We welcome this international swell of interest in our music and our area, and in that spirit we hope that this web-site will be of help to you. Please feel free to check out the areas most suited to you and in the meantime we will hope to see you at one of the many upcoming Balfa Toujours engagements scheduled around the world.

Our latest release "Live at Whiskey River Landing" is available.

"Although not jazz, this is swing worthy of Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grappeli's Hot Club of France, captured perfectly in a warm live recording at this Atchafalaya Basin dancehall. . . ." --Boston Phoenix
We're on the cover of an issue of OffBeat magazine. Read the article by Dan Willging, with photographs by Rick Olivier.
